TJ Yates keeps Schaub’s streak going

Texans streak

The Texans are a very bad football organization, picked every year to succeed by serious-sounding people who fail to realize that fantasy football is not reality football. But even as Houston was down 31-6 in the third quarter of what proved to be their fourth loss on the season, I figured one of the greatest streaks in sports was poised to end. And technically it did– Schaub left the game in the third quarter having failed to extend his NFL record four consecutive games with an interception returned for a touchdown.

But Schaub’s backup, TJ Yates, turned in an equally bad performance, going 12-17 for 98 yards and two interceptions. More importantly, Yates kept going what Schaub could not, as one of those picks, made by Alec Ogletree, went back 99 yards for a glorious touchdown. So, while Schaub’s record-setting streak DID end, Yates did a great comedic service to the football world yesterday. Wait, I mean Sunday… wow, today’s Tuesday? Thanks Columbus!
